Easy White Sauce

A very easy white sauce for scalloped dishes

Ingredients

1/3 cup butter1/3 cup flour

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper, white pepper if you have it

3 cups milk scalded

Three or four chopped green onions, white and green parts.

Method
 

Instructions
    Melt butter, add flour and cook for a minute or two. Do not brown the roué.

    Add the scalded milk all at once and salt and pepper. Cook until thickened.

    Add chopped green onions.
